Mason Raymond – Toronto Maple Leafs Utility Guy
Mason Raymond continues to prove he was a great addition to this Toronto Maple Leafs team after being given a professional tryout back in September. The one year deal is looking like it will be extended in the coming off-season. When you break down the stats of Mason Raymond, the evidence is clear this player is a “lunch box” type. Logging minutes on the power play and finding the net, taking penalty kill minutes and finding his way on the checking line to shut down opposition. Any NHL player with a one year deal is hungry for a better contract next year, and that carrot is driving Raymond’s game play no doubt.
Mason Raymond -
Average time on Ice Shorthanded per game = 1:42
Average time on Ice Power Play per game = 2:09
The above stats show that Toronto Maple Leafs coach Randy Carlyle is splitting the left winger between special teams duties throughout the game. With Mason Raymond logging and average of 18:20 per game his special teams make up close to 20% of his ice time.
My Mason Raymond Season Prediction after 23 games -
